All the bases of Ativa Rafting and Adventures are included in the process of safety management of ABNT 15331. The base Apiúna got the certification in July 2010 as one of the first Rafting companies in the country that got it and the bases of Florianópolis and Vale das Aguas (Valley of the Waters) have already passed the audit of ABNT successfully and are awaiting for the certificate. The bases of Bahia are also implementing the SMS (safety management system). 

 

SECURITY POLICY OF ATIVA RAFTING AND ADVENTURES

 

Ativa Rafting and Adventures has a long history in offering adventure tourism products of high quality and established standards of security since its foundation in 1994. We are committed to continuous improvement in our actions and operations and share with our customers and partners a Security Policy that defines the following items: 

 

1. Promote physical and mental integrity of customers, guides, employees and any persons who may be involved in the activity; 

 

2. Using the Safety Management System based on the NBR 15331 and other standards set by ABNT in Adventure Tourism and the Municipal, State and Federal Laws relevant, including those relating to work safety; 

 

3. Has in its workforce, trained guides with constant updating and training; 

 

4. Offer quality products defined for each customer profile; 

 

5. Operate in areas previously tested and approved by the security team in all possible weather conditions; 

 

6. Make use of appropriate equipment for activities; 

 

7. Maintain the complete integration of the team guides, employees, managers and local community; 

 

8. Seek respect for others and the environment as a fundamental requirement for the activities, minimizing the environmental and social impacts generated; 

 

9. Have your actions aimed at security not as a differentiator, but as a basic requirement and essential to any company´s activities. 

 

10. Attend the expectations of our customers, including satisfaction with all the services provided, the interaction with the environment and the implementation of activities in safety through the adoption of best practices enshrined in the segment. 

 

The above requirements will be evaluated every six months proposed by the managers, guides and employees of the company.

Interest of adventure sports is growing at a speed so great that sometimes lack structure to meet the fans. The structure as appropriate equipments, courses and professionals whom act like guides and capacitated trainers. Therefore it is important to choose a company that conducts confident his adventure with the highest security. Ativa´s bases works with a high degree of security, meeting the strict standards established by ABNT. Also meet the recommendations of the Brazilian Canoeing Confederation, Brazilian Association of Entrepreneurs of Adventure Tourism (ABETA), the International Rafting Federation as well as the Brazilian Association of Canyonning. 

The guides and all staff attend to courses in first aid and rescue techniques with constant updates. 

Also participate in courses of international renown as the course Rescue3 International, recognized worldwide as one of the best courses in whitewater rescue, first published in Brazil happened in the Ativa base of Santo Amaro da Imperatriz. 

Ativa Rafting was also the first company in Brazil to participate in trials for rafting guides recognized by the Brazilian Canoeing Confederation. 

The international exchange is another important factor in the professionalization of the guides. The owner attended a train with world champion Peter Micheler in Austria and many professional guides from all over the world spend their seasons on the bases of Ativa bringing new experiences for adventure sports. 

Since 2001 several Ativa´s guides takes seasons in foreign companies as in Peru, Europe and the United States. 

Apart from professional guides and instructors, the bases of Ativa also invest in top quality equipment that is reviewed constantly.
